GENEVA HEALTH AGENCY NURSE WINS AWARD!

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) in the UK have announced winners of the National Temporary Workers Week.

Geneva Health are extremely excited and proud to report that one of our Geneva Health Nurses - Kerryann Wells - has won the The Agency Nurse of the Year award.

And due to the unprecedented level of high calibre entries, another of our great nurses Lee Smith was highly commended in the Agency Nurse Category.

Geneva Health congratulate both Kerry and Lee. Both of these people have been deemed to be truly exceptional workers in their industry and a credit to their profession.

KERRYANN WELLS - AGENCY NURSE OF THE YEAR

Kerryann came to the UK from her native Australia to build on her nursing experience working in paediatric intensive care units.

First, she worked on shifts in one of London’s major children’s hospitals gaining plaudits for her standards of care, which greatly exceeded expectations. But in October last year, she opted to work in a private family home in London helping to care for a three year old boy with a life-limiting condition.

Kerryann made sure his family was comfortable with her presence in their home and now cares for him on nightly Thursday to Sunday shifts, managing his extreme physical needs, as well as reading him stories and singing to him.

The boy’s parents have paid their own tribute to her work saying: “She is amongst the most competent nurses we have ever encountered. Her ability to nurse our son, a very medically fragile boy, is amazing due to the immense care she took before starting this role, to make sure her competence and knowledge were appropriate to his needs.”

As well as these duties, Kerryann who lives in London has self-funded herself through a Diploma of Tropical Nursing, which she finishes in July. This is in preparation for her future plans working for an aid agency in the developing world.
