Our specialist recruitment consultants can help with the paperwork required for UK Registration for health professionals, and advise you of current midwifery vacancies, registered nurse jobs in the UK and other healthcare roles.

Professional Registration

nursing and midwifery

To apply for registered nurse jobs in the UK all nurses and midwives must register with the nurse and Midwifery Council (NMC) and acquire a Personal Identification Number (PIN). The NMC regulates all Nurses and Midwifes working in the UK. Please be aware initial registration can be a lengthy process and take up to 8 months or longer.

Your NMC registration must be renewed every year.

The process to obtain an NMC registration varies depending on if you are an EU or overseas applicant.

For EU trained applicants the process is relatively straightforward and unless you are from new member states, Bulgaria and Romania, you do not require a work permit.

For overseas trained applicants a pre-requisite to getting your NMC registration is the completion of the 20 days overseas nursing programme and in some circumstances a period of supervised practice will be required.

To find out more call one of our Recruitment Consultants on 0207 025 0095 or refer to the NMC website.

AHPs

To work in the UK most Allied Health Professionals must register with the Heath Professionals Council (HPC). As HPC registrations are investigated individually, processing times vary. However it commonly takes between 8-12 weeks.

For more information contact one of our Recruitment consultants or refer to the HPC website.
